Charles E. Nesbitt, Jr., an alumnus of Morehouse College and inductee in the Morehouse College board of preachers, was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is the son of the late Charles E. Nesbitt, Sr., founder and pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church of Brooklyn, and Dorris Nesbitt, who for many years, served as Bethesda’s Minister of Music.

Pastor Nesbitt has served as the pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, Sparta, Ga., Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Stockbridge, Ga., and has currently served Providence Baptist Church of College Park, Ga. since 1985. Under Pastor Nesbitt’s leadership, Providence has been both evangelistically and socially active, realizing the responsibility of the church is “to know Christ, and make Him known.” This focus has led to an array of ministries which seek to serve every gender, age, and segment of our society.

Pastor Nesbitt is a member of the National Baptist Convention, USA, has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Hampton Minister’s Conference, and is one of the founding members of Shemoneh, a consortium of pastors committed to assisting the body of Christ, particularly in the area of the pastorate. In addition, Pastor Nesbitt is the author of “No Leftovers”, a daily devotional published in 2008 and is the President/CEO of Jonez Ministries, a resource of sermons and music focused on the promotion of the Gospel message. He shares the Gospel each week on the “Providence of God” television broadcast and is published in “Sunday Morning Atlanta”, a compilation of sermons featuring Atlanta area pastors.

Pastor Nesbitt is married to the former Joanne Morris of Savannah, Ga. They have three children; Charles III, Alexandra and Jennifer.
